It now has a new metallic red color scheme, a custom made roof rack and light bar, and to help with the power and grip issue, Interco Tyres.  I’m sure you’re aware of all the lack of torque horror stories these produce, and that a common upgrade is a twin motor. Not liking the twin motors open gearbox, I decided to inspect the issue further. So, I set out to make the stock setup work more efficiently, primarily after a motor burnt out.  I realized when stripping the truck, the motor pinion gear seemed meshed too tightly causing added strain on the motor as well as a lot of grease in the gearbox and diff. That’s good for preventing wear but is way too much for the little truck to handle. So, I cleaned it all off and now run model railway oil on the gears and have had no issues since. I’m now extremely happy with the torque and power. If any-thing it has far too much now. —Shaun Rogers Even adding extra power! WWW.VRCMAG.COM 21
