O-RING HEALTH When doing shock maintenance, don’t clean your O-rings with solvent; they can dry out or swell up, resulting in a sticky shock shaft through its stroke and poor shock performance. Leave your seals and bushings alone for general rebuilding, but if you’re going to address this area, either replace with new or, at best, gently wipe them clean with a dry rag. Don’t forget that Green Slime is still a thing and should be applied to new or freshly cleaned O-rings for smooth stroke and less leaks. No lube on those o-rings ... got it! WWW.VRCMAG.COM 27
