TESTING Voltage is extremely important when it comes to LiPo cells. Let it drop too low, and your wallet takes a hit; get it too high, and you risk fire. These tem-peramental characteristics make it wise to keep a keen eye on pack voltage. Inexpensive testers are available that offer insight into the overall pack voltage as well as individual cell voltages, so you know you’re in the safe range and that you aren’t experiencing cell failure. Connect to balance plug, and you’ll know the exact status of your pack. STICK AROUND One of the simplest safety methods is to just stay put; you don’t have to stare at your charger and battery the entire time, but do be somewhat present. Don’t split for lunch or take a nap; basically, don’t leave your setup unattended. In the unlikely event of a problem, you will at least be around to deal with it.
