PAINT _Basic Interior Design PAINT: 2 BIRDS, 1 STONE Peel all areas to be painted the same color, unless they involve fades or need any other special attention. It has been said a billion times throughout the years on these pages: dark colors first! The first coat, of course, should be a light one. This will seal the edges between the mask and open areas. Since it was a bright, sunny, 85-degree day here at The Farm, the paint took only about 10 minutes to dry. With everything ready and having an ideal day to paint, this project should go quickly. It took about 3 coats to completely black out the black areas. I went ahead and laid down some paint onto the actual body.
