RC4WD TEST CONDITIONS Weather: Sunny Temp/RH: 85˚F / 45% Air Pressure: 29.97 in. Altitude: 330 ft. Track Type: Mini golf course and surroundings HANDLING Turn Radius: 2 ft., 10 in. On Power: Moderate Understeer Off Power: Slight Understeer BRAKING Control: Good Fade: None Overall: Good THE VERDICT Instructions Parts Quality & Fit Durability Tunability Overall Performance Value CONS • Still causes price-tag shock • We want it to go faster and still hit the trails • Access to battery requires removing screws from the body Powerplant Info The electronics are pretty small, but the 7.4V 2S pack provides good power to the wheels. The ESC itself was pretty linear; we wish there was more throttle resolution below 50% throttle, but maybe we’re asking too much of this scale. The replacement parts are cheap, but we aren’t sure that the 2-cell LiPo not having a balance port is a good idea in the long run. Maybe in this small a pack, it doesn’t matter? MOTOR DATA Motor: RC4WD Solder Tabs: External Timing: Fixed PROS • Material quality isn’t mini • Beautiful hard-plastic bodies • Decent trail performance TARGET Main Competition: Losi Mini, Axial Yeti Jr. Who It’s For: Those who live in a mini world. 1/18 AWD B A S H Is it moving or not? We will never tell. WWW.VRCMAG.COM 75
