Acceleration & Speed_ Although the Dodge Demon is an RTR vehicle, it doesn’t come with a battery, so your battery choice will have a big effect in this area. We went with a Team Orion Carbon Pro 4S LiPo; it fit easily into the battery area with the hook-and- loop straps and plugged right in with a Deans-style connector. Off the line, the car grabbed and spun the wheels as it rocketed out of the corners. All four tires did a great job, considering that our non-prepped asphalt was a bit dusty. It also stayed pretty composed and was confident and stable in spite of having no electronic driver assistance like those sometimes seen in other basher vehicles. But, keep in mind that electronic driver assistance isn’t legal for racing, so this isn’t a big issue, if that’s your intention. Those who are used to sensored brushless systems may be a little disappointed with the “feel” of the unsensored Team Orion system, but for most of us, it’s only really noticeable when running in tight and technical corners where fine-tuning input is paramount. Gearing seemed to be balanced, and the car had a linear increase in speed that was predictable and suitable for aggressive driving.
