Braking_ Braking on the Dodge Demon is partially limited to the amount of traction on hand, and considering the tires that come with it, the car does a respectable job. However, those running on a track may opt for other tires, depending on the conditions, and like any race vehicle it’s tuned to track conditions and style of driving. But, those characteristics are admittedly splitting hairs in the big picture; with 4-wheel drive grabbing on every corner, it makes short work of large spaces in spite of the car’s obvious heft. Hit the brakes, and this car comes to a screeching halt. It does have a bit of push when on the binders, but that handling can instill confidence and allow for later braking. Rating: 8 Low-Speed Handling_ The car is based on the popular Inferno off-road platform and is adjusted to work in the on-road environment. It does well, but don’t expect it to keep up with full-blown, race-specific machines in other classes. Fun is paramount here, and it’s great for spec racing since everyone is on the same page, but it is big and heavy and tends to roll a lot in the corners. 4WD helps it out, along with other tuning features, but low speed isn’t its forte. Again, its sensorless brushless system holds it back a bit, but realistically, most owners of this car will probably CONTACT KYOSHO www.kyosho.com TEAM ORION www.teamorion.com never be concerned about shaving hundredths of a second around a tight track corner. Rating: 6 High-Speed Handling_ High speed is where this car really shines. Its weight and track mannerisms are its best assets, and a slight push straight out of the box means you can really push it to the limit. It always felt composed, and the suspension is set up with the right amount of tradeoffs for neutral handling. Of course, with such deep aftermarket support and tuning items on the car, it can be tuned to your style of driving or conditions, but it inherently begs to go fast and do it effortlessly in spite of massive brushless and LiPo power. However, those who desire razor-sharp handling and white-knuckle moments may need to look for a different style of vehicle. Rating: 9 We read this car has the highest total loss after purchase!
