Cha Cha Cha Changes

Wow. How things can change over the years. Seems like only yesterday I was sporting my first RC Car. There it sat under the Christmas tree in all of its glory. It was a “slightly used” tub of gold. My RC10 came decked out with a sweet 1200 mAh pack and a basic 27-turn brushed motor. The thing was pretty incredible to a 9 year old kid, with a ripping upstate NY mullet I may add. It provided many years of stump jumping, gravel burnouts, and removing of our neighbors freshly laid flowers. To say I was hooked on RC at a young age would be an understatement. However, little did I know that I would still be very much a part of this hobby for the next 25+ years.

To make a long story short I have been involved in this stuff for pretty much all of my life. In that time I have dabbled in many aspects of the hobby; backyard bashing, painting 100’s of bodies for my ingrate friends, club racing, traveling the world as a sponsored driver, and working at Xtreme RC Cars Magazine. I am now onto my next adventure – Velocity RC Magazine.

As you know, the world and it’s technologies change. My 1/8th scale electric buggy isn’t propelled over a set of 40-foot quads with a 1200 mAh stick pack anymore and nor should your magazine. People demand a higher standard of interaction and why shouldn’t they? With all of the resources available to us daily, it’s only fitting that magazines should change to accept those resources.

These are exciting times ahead of us now and I sincerely hope you will join us for the duration. Welcome to Velocity RC Magazine.

Mike
