K&N X VAUGHN GITTIN JR. X HPI RACING VIDEO COLLABORATION
HPI RACING presents the K&N x Vaughn Gittin Jr. x HPI RACING Video Collaboration for the “K&N Limited Edition Vaughn Gittin Jr. HPI RC Drift Car Sweepstakes”. On a typical, bright Southern California 80 degree Winter Day the HPI crew joined Vaughn Gittin Jr. with his Monster Energy Falken Tire Ford Mustang at the K&N Facility in Riverside, California. The occasion was the video shoot for the upcoming K&N Vaughn Gittin Jr. HPI sweepstakes. On hand to direct and shoot the production were the crack team of Will Roegge, Andrew Laputka and Skylar Smith. The HPI crew consisted of Andrew Hilman and HPI’s very own RC Drift Master Aki Watamase.
The storyboard called for a chase sequence between the full sized Monster Falken Mustang and the 1/10th Scale HPI Mustang. Vaughn would be chasing the RC Mustang around the K&N facility with the RC car making it’s escape into the K&N building. We had a lot of fun practicing and executing the various shots throughout the day. With each shot we kept pushing the limits on how we can get the cars closer together at speed, which resulted in some awesome sequences (…and a few minor mishaps along the way). It was a really awesome experience working with a passionate group of professionals who are on top of their game.
