This Week In RC

We’re all lazy, so instead of you searching the internet about what’s hot in RC, I’m going to capture the week in RC. So less words is good. Let’s go.

Industry Check
Lawsuits are nothing new in the US and protecting your product seems to bring out teeth. Traxxas has filed a lawsuit against Great Planes for apparent copyright infringements. What does this mean for the health of the hobby and one of the biggest distributors in the world? Time will tell. Maybe nothing at all but some money being transferred but rumors of Traxxas not having product at GP is something to raise at least an eyebrow about.

Euros
Despite their money being worth more than the USD, they race RC Cars. Winning the 1/8-scale nitro Euro title was Mugen Driver Robert Batlle. The Mugen chassis has always been one of the best, and it seems to be winning more since the crazy sponsor everybody festival is over. Congrats Mugen!

On-Road Is Back – Or never left?
The new Tamiya TA07 is out, Mugen has jumped in with their new Touring Car and Associated has given us a new 1/12-scale. As much as we think the RC market it in a bit of struggle these new kits are a nice sign to those who won’t let on-road racing go away. We are excited too because are going to test the RC12R6 at TQ Raceway in Chino, CA.

Tekno RC Makes More

Tekno RC has been proving how good their chassis is at major races, and they are dipping their toes into the electric 4WD dream. Seems like every company wants to win a 4WD title. Is it easier to do than the more popular 2WD? I’m not sure, but it’s cool to see this company grow. Check out some of their testing at OC/RC.
