I stopped in to visit AKA Racing and Joel Johnson was kind enough to give me some samples of their new Truggy tires. They are lighter, faster and better than the previous “truck” bead designs, but there is one thing they are not…air fresheners.
I left them in my car for a few days, and since I’m used to odd smells, I didn’t notice what they were doing to the inside of my car until my wife got in the car and said “what is that weird smell in here?” Since my car is new, it should smell like a new car, but instead it smelled like something I was very familiar with…new rubber tires. I reach behind my seat and found the stash of “stink tires” behind me.
So my lesson for the day…keep tires in Zip locks. They keep veggies and tires fresh and they keep your car from smelling like a tire factory!
