There was a time, before the internet, when magazines were king! I used to drool for hours over the pics splattered throughout those printed pages dreaming that I could one day attend a magazine worthy event to hang with the “fast guys” and see their awesome race cars in person. It’s a different time now and digital has arrived but we haven’t forgotten our roots. Vintage RC cars have a HUGE following and rightfully so; they allow us to pretend we are kids again and relive some of the great memories we had playing with our cars in years past. The editors of Velocity RC Magazine are big fans of vintage radio control too and we’ll be representing these 20+ year old machines in various ways in issues to come. Here are some early sneak-peak pics of a 1989 Masami Yokomo 4WD Worlds Replica I’ve been working on which will be the topic of a future article in VRC Mag (the main image is a picture of Masami’s actual car from the ’89 Worlds). We do it all including the old-school stuff!
