PRODUCT _Datavac Electric Duster TESTING We hammered the pushbutton switch to unleash the fire and fury (sans fire) and were immediately impressed. It’s noisy—but not too bad—and works quickly, so you won’t have to listen to the racket long, which is good since the manual warns of overheating after extensive use, but we never came remotely close to hitting that point. The long cord is great if you want to clean something at your neighbor’s house, but otherwise it’s silly long at 12 feet. As for power, it’s got more guts than we expected, with output definitely dwarfed by almost any conventional air compressor; but that isn’t what it was designed for, so leave it at home if you’re a mud racer. When used as intended, the unit was amazing, with adequate power for any on-road class and some of the less extreme off-road classes; we even used it to dust our radio, charger, and toolbox with great results. RATING Quality Performance Value FINAL VERDICT 7.7_We love this thing! It works amazingly well for its intended purpose. It’s not going to blow your dirtiest messes to outer space, but it will tidy your annoying ones. The price is a little high, and the duster itself is a little heavy, but it does pack a punch for its size. If you’re racing on a budget, this is a novelty that can go to the bottom of your wishlist, but if you have some spare bucks and loathe cleaning, we highly recommend this unit. Oh; you can also use it to clean your computer … if you have one of those.
